Casting Iphigenia 2.0

February 29, 2008

well the cast list is out, and i did get cast. so my self complaints i guess were not warranted. i am actually, i think, a little bit more excited about getting the part of the Soldier more than the character i had originally tired out for. The soldiers have always been my second choice. This was an amazing part in an amazing play. I am looking forward to working with the cast. Here is the main cast:

Agamemnon: Zach Dunn
Clytemnestra: Cambria Wheeler
Menelaus: Jackson Boren
Iphigenia: Julie Dallato
Achilles: Jon Garza

Then a bunch of soldiers ands bridesmaids.
I am super excited, however now i have to get my but in shape. Time to hit the Gym. They have us training like we are really in the army. I am more excited than ever. I just need to figure out my schedule for next quarter. i’m going to be takeing a lot of drama classes. =P… I cant wait.

How to not get cast:

February 27, 2008

So i had my solo audition yesterday. I did awfull. I will be happy with any part in this production, which is probally what i will have to accept. If i end up with a speaking role i will be stoked beyond beleif. But i dont know if that will happen. I love the soldier parts and i actually did decent at them. It was the other part that i tried out for that i literally sucked at. We will see what happens. Call back list is up in an about an hour. The only thing i can do is wait and see what happens. The final cast list will be up on friday. Even if i dont get a call back i might still have gotten cast, but i dont know if thats even a possibility. I guess maybe for a soldier role, but like i said we shall see. What i guess makes up for it is that many of my friends didnt do so hot eaither. Jon Garza was complaining about his performance. As was Jessica and Sarah. So we will see if any of us get parts. I was a wreck going into my audition. I was so nervous. I could tell i was because my leg was bouncing up and down and thats all it does when im nervous. It only happens when im that nervous. Well its only a waiting game now.

Simple Pleasures Day

February 27, 2008

So now there is a new holiday. This holiday occurs once a week, the day of the week does not matter. This MUST take place at least once a week, if not every day. It doesn’t take long. These are the steps to a perfect Simple Pleasures day.

1. Go swing on a swing set.
-There is nothing like that feeling. I dare anybody who is pissed or depressed to go for a swing. It WILL make you happy. If you actually try to get as high as you can. It cannot NOT give you a smile.
2. Go play on a Merry-Go-Round.
- We got Dizzy, Fast. End of story. Its amazing they still have one. I thought they had been taken out for safety reasons.
3. Go sit on the top of the amphitheater.
- It was fun to sit and watch the sights and talk about past years.
4. Go climb the mysterious stairs behind Grainger.
- Find out where they go. It’s sweet.
5. Climb a tree.
- How long has it been since i did this. Ill tell you it has been a while.
6. Go sit on roof of the library.
- Amazing to watch the people and the world go by. It was quite relaxing to sit up there and study read and talk about life.
7. Go for a walk…barefoot.
- Increase your sensory input. Its sweet.

This the recipe for the best day ever.An added joy is to enjoy it with a good friend. ie. John Osio. I have enjoyed many late night talks as of late with him. He is a good man.

So remember how…

February 25, 2008

I wasn’t going to get cast in Iphigenia 2.0 by Charles Mee. We had group tryout today. It was a ton of fun, but everybody was so good. There were tons of people that tried out. A total of 36 people tried out for parts. There are 7 speaking roles that are up for grabs, then a few ensemble parts for the male side and about 5 female parts. There were about 12 or 13 guys that came and tried out. The rest were female. There is a chance i will get a part, but so many of the people were so good. I am honestly really worried about getting a role, especially one of the roles i would prefer. All of the roles would be great, but there are two or three that i really would enjoy playing. The role of Menelalaus is an awesome part as are the parts of the soldiers. My solo audition is on Tuesday at 7:30. Im so at like the edge of my seat. I’m really nervous. The cast list will be up by the friday the 29th. =S. Nervousness abounds.

LOST

February 22, 2008

Every time i watch a new episode this season it ends and i find myself saying “Holy S**t.” This season has proven why this show is so amazing and why it is the best show on television. The character development is amazing and the plot is even better. You cannot help but be drawn into the story and to the idea that the story actually happened, but you know it hasn’t. I give my extreme props to JJ Abrams for creating this show, because it is not very often that a show this groundbreaking comes along. Hell anything this groundbreaking. I just finished this weeks episode and oh my god. the last 4 seconds…..wtf. I want to know answers! NOW! hahaha. But i have to wait till next week. =(

Parkour #02

February 21, 2008

Recently i have been starting to learn a french disapline called parkour. Parkour is the most efficiant motion from one point to another over obstacles. Yesterday i went out and did stuff for about an hour and half working with Jason on some of the moves that are possible for getting over stuff. My hardest one is the vault called Kong Vault, Its more of a mental block than anything else. I almost have it but my mind tells me i dont so i give up. It is really fun however, but today i am very sore. And my planting wrist hurts like hell.

i just scalded my fingers

on my bowel of top ramen. just thought i would inform all of you.

It drives me crazy

February 20, 2008

It drives me crazy, when you are so down on yourself.
You are special, i don’t know why you want to end your life.
Maybe i never will.
You say that people wouldn’t care if you did,
You mean to tell me if one of your best friends killed themselves
that you would just get over it.
I refuse to believe that. Its bullshit and you know it.
I don’t know what to say to convince you
not to down that bottle of pills,
but i know that you are cared about and you would be missed.
You are not a burden to your family or your friends.
i hope you realize that.
I wish i could show you that there is something to live for,
something to keep fighting for,
but the truth is i don’t know if i’ve found it yet.
There has to be a solution though, so hang tight, keep fighting.
At least till i know the solution and i can fill you in.
Please….

Shame on you PUC

February 19, 2008

You give us Martin Luther King Day off, to remember what he did for this nation and for people everywhere. What about Presidents Day? They day to remember the presidents who paved the way. Presidents Day is meant to remember Washington and Lincoln. If it wasn’t for men like this who paved the way of american freedom, both of our nation from Britan and (and freedom for blacks in America, so dont play that RACE card), would there have even been a MLK Jr. To Celebrate, i think not. Why do we not get a day off from school for this day, rather than MKL or even in addition to it. I know i know, we cant have too many days off because we are in the quarter system, but i think that our presidents, especially Washington and Lincoln are worth it.

LOVE is a four letter word

February 15, 2008

ATTN: PUC PEOPLE.This saturday night, at the Alice Holst Theatre on Pacific Union College Campus, the play Love is a Four Letter Word: Exploring how and why we fall. This play is a collection of 1 act plays on the topic of LOVE. The directors and actors have been working really hard on this play. There are 7 plays that have been worked together under the careful eye of Mei Ann Teo and Cambria Wheeler.

I have a small part in one of the plays. And thus i can attest to the greatness of the other plays espeically the ending play, On Tidy Endings. The acting is amazing as 2 seniors (Jessica McPherson and Jonathan Garza) take the stage for the first time here at PUC. They are joined by Freshman Zoe Thompson, and Sophmore Harrison Mullin. The talent abounds in this play as well as the other 1 act plays.

I strongly urge you to come and see it. The performance dates are the 16th, 17th, 20th, 21st, 23rd, 24th. The Show times are at 8pm in Stauffer Hall at the Alice Holst Theatre. Tickets are 3 bucks for students and 5 dollars for others. Thats cheeper than a gallon of gas for students! So come and suport the Dramatic Arts Society. And stay tuned for Iphigenia 2.0 this spring from DAS. Its going to rule. Trust me I just read the script. Ill write a entry about it soon. I promise, right about the time ill do the politics one.-twid.
