hello. its been a while. i’ve been quite busy with myself as of late. This quarter looks rather busy for me. The first week was spend on the set of “The White Abyss” a new short film by director Craig Church. Honestly i have not even read the script yet, but i was there for a greater deal of the shooting of it and i must say that i did very much enjoy being involved with it. I was in charge of taking some productions stills for it mostly for the PR for the people involved and for Craig to do some self promotion. I have some of these up on my flickr at the moment if you want to check some of them out. I also was a extra in the shoot. The setting for the movie is after world war III the world basically has gone to shit in a hand basket. I was part of a mob that was attacking the supermarket where the main characters were holed up in and we are after the very last bit of the food that is availible. We have killed before for food and we were not afraid to do it again. This was quite fun, but i also realized that will all the mud and blood on my face i culd look kinda like a zombie. thus…

It was a pleasure to be apart of the shoot, and anybody who is able should watch it when it comes out it is going to be an amazing production for what PUC students normally produce. I am quite looking forward to its production being fully out. stay tuned.

So this guy comes to PUC, comes to our small predominately white and asian campus. His name Bryonn Bain. 1st of all he was amazing. I’m not much for hip hop/rap music, but i found myself being magnetized to his flow and to his lyrics. It was just such a beautiful flow to it all. And his messages were important. he spoke out against racism, against unfairness. Everything about his message was refreshing. He is not the black guy who comes and tells all the white people we should appreciate the black man because we did all these bad things to them and without them we would be nowhere. I’m all for racial equality, but most of the time i see the pendulum swing too far the other way. NO he didn’t do that he came and preached a message of straight equality. You cant do anything about the past. What is important is now! He told the story of his wrongful imprisonment, but instead of being bitter about it he has moved to a place where he can dialogue about racial issues in america. He has a passion for the prison system in our nation because of his wrongful imprisonment. He now uses his experience to reach out to people incarcerated around our nation. Some of the things he told us was appalling but, it NEEDS to be said. America now imprisons more people than iraq, north korea, and Afghanistan combined. The number of blacks in our prison system that that majority of them are wrongfully profiled is more than were placed in prison during the “Apartide” in south africa. Thats is horribly wrong and makes me ashamed to call this nation my people. But here i am an american. What will i do to make a change? The most amazing part about his program. The stage reading of his new one man play. There is only one word to describe it. Amazing. It really moved me. The message of hope at the end was a really moving moment.
ps. on a side note. Bryonn Bain has inspired me to start writing again. I know my poetry is going to suck, but as he told me you have to just let it come out. It will get better over time. You have to let it spill out then you can craft it and mold it later.

well the cast list is out, and i did get cast. so my self complaints i guess were not warranted. i am actually, i think, a little bit more excited about getting the part of the Soldier more than the character i had originally tired out for. The soldiers have always been my second choice. This was an amazing part in an amazing play. I am looking forward to working with the cast. Here is the main cast:
Agamemnon: Zach Dunn
Clytemnestra: Cambria Wheeler
Menelaus: Jackson Boren
Iphigenia: Julie Dallato
Achilles: Jon Garza
Then a bunch of soldiers ands bridesmaids.
I am super excited, however now i have to get my but in shape. Time to hit the Gym. They have us training like we are really in the army. I am more excited than ever. I just need to figure out my schedule for next quarter. i’m going to be takeing a lot of drama classes. =P… I cant wait.

ATTN: PUC PEOPLE.This saturday night, at the Alice Holst Theatre on Pacific Union College Campus, the play Love is a Four Letter Word: Exploring how and why we fall. This play is a collection of 1 act plays on the topic of LOVE. The directors and actors have been working really hard on this play. There are 7 plays that have been worked together under the careful eye of Mei Ann Teo and Cambria Wheeler.
I have a small part in one of the plays. And thus i can attest to the greatness of the other plays espeically the ending play, On Tidy Endings. The acting is amazing as 2 seniors (Jessica McPherson and Jonathan Garza) take the stage for the first time here at PUC. They are joined by Freshman Zoe Thompson, and Sophmore Harrison Mullin. The talent abounds in this play as well as the other 1 act plays.
I strongly urge you to come and see it. The performance dates are the 16th, 17th, 20th, 21st, 23rd, 24th. The Show times are at 8pm in Stauffer Hall at the Alice Holst Theatre. Tickets are 3 bucks for students and 5 dollars for others. Thats cheeper than a gallon of gas for students! So come and suport the Dramatic Arts Society. And stay tuned for Iphigenia 2.0 this spring from DAS. Its going to rule. Trust me I just read the script. Ill write a entry about it soon. I promise, right about the time ill do the politics one.-twid.
